TikTok Shop LIVE lets you sell products on a live stream to buyers who find you on the For You feed, short videos and affiliates. This guide is the order to learn it in. Each step links to a short guide.

For: New sellers who haven't gone live on TikTok Shop yet.

Steps

  1. Open a shop in Seller Center. Verify your identity or business, add a warehouse address and list your products. There's no setup fee.
  2. Check you can go LIVE. TikTok asks LIVE creators to follow the Community Guidelines, be 18 or older and have the "required followers". See TikTok Shop LIVE requirements.
  3. Learn what you'll pay. Most categories pay a 6% referral fee, and it's charged on buyer-paid shipping too. See TikTok Shop fees.
  4. Know when you get paid. New shops are paid 31 days after delivery. See TikTok Shop payouts.
  5. Set up your LIVE. Pin products, plan a giveaway with the LIVE Giveaway tool and test your stream. See How to set up a TikTok Shop LIVE.
  6. Run your first LIVE from a checklist. See First TikTok Shop LIVE checklist.
  7. Ship within 2 business days. Each order must get a carrier scan (In Transit) within 2 business days. See Shipping TikTok Shop orders after a LIVE.
  8. Watch your Shop Performance Score. You get one after 30 delivered orders in 90 days. It decides payout speed and which tools you can use. See TikTok Shop Performance Score explained.

Common Mistakes

  • Expecting Whatnot-style payouts. A new TikTok Shop waits 31 days after delivery, not hours.
  • Forgetting the referral fee is charged on shipping the buyer pays.
  • Printing labels late. Without tracking within 5 business days, the order auto-cancels.
  • Mixing up SPS. TikTok's SPS is the Shop Performance Score; Whatnot's SPS means Seller Provided Support.

Checklist

  • Shop opened and verified in Seller Center
  • Warehouse address added
  • Products listed
  • LIVE eligibility checked
  • Fee and payout timing understood
  • Packing supplies and labels ready
  • Plan to scan every order within 2 business days
