LIVE auction access on TikTok Shop is not a single switch. Your shop has to meet eligibility rules, your products have to be in a category that allows auctions, and branded items need authorization. Miss one and you can see auctions marked unavailable, lose auction access, or have a shop flagged for counterfeit goods.

What TikTok Checks

  • Account Health Rating (AHR) above 150. Every shop starts at 200 points on a 0 to 1,000 scale covering the last 180 days.
  • Good standing. No active restrictions and no recent serious product, service or intellectual property (IP) violations.
  • Countdown Bidding only. All live bidding must use TikTok Shop's Countdown Bidding feature.
  • Allowed category. Collectibles and trading cards, beauty and personal care (including perfume), pre-owned luxury bags and footwear and several others allow normal auction listings. "Other platform-approved categories" are open to invited sellers only.
  • Separate feature rules. Temporary Listings need a Shop Performance Score (SPS) of at least 3.5. A shop with no SPS yet cannot open Countdown Bidding on Temporary Listings. Surprise Sets are Collectibles only since the Oct 19, 2026 update.

TikTok says sellers can lose auction eligibility for off-platform violations or if assessed as too risky, and access can be revoked at any time.

Steps

  1. Check your AHR. Open Account Health in Seller Center. If you are near 150, fix open violations first. At 150, 100 and 50 points TikTok may block new listings and new mega campaign enrollment for 7, 14 or 28 days.
  2. Match every product to the exact category. TikTok says not to get around restrictions by changing category, title, tool or splitting products.
  3. Apply for brand authorization before the show. Go to Seller Center > My Account > Account Settings > Qualification Center > Brand Qualification. Pick the brand and authorization type and upload documents.
  4. Prepare the right brand documents. If you own the trademark, use a valid US registration that matches your shop's business details and covers the product category. If you resell, use a valid Letter of Authorization (LOA) that names your business, covers the brand, products and US sales, and is signed by the trademark owner or an authorized party. An LOA from a distributor also needs proof the distributor can authorize sellers.
  5. Keep invoices for every branded lot. For an IP appeal, an invoice or receipt must match the listed product, be from the last 12 months, be dated before you listed it, and be unedited.
  6. Watch your wording. TikTok bans phrases such as "dupe", "similar to", "replica" and "inspired by". It also checks that the item shown on camera matches the listing.
  7. Expect brand checks during the stream. TikTok automatically detects branded products in a LIVE. Without valid authorization it may reject or restrict the sale, and repeated cases can bring LIVE interruption or limits on auction access.
  8. Appeal a counterfeit or IP flag with the matching reason. In the violation record, choose the reason that fits: you own the IP, the IP owner authorized you, the product was bought through a legitimate channel, or misjudgment by platform. Upload the document that proves that reason.
  9. Keep accounts separate. Accounts sharing contact details or a bank account count as connected, and enforcement on one can extend to the others.

Worked Example

AHR points come back slowly. TikTok adds 4 points for every 200 finished orders, up to 20 points a week. Returned, refunded, cancelled and sample orders do not count.

Example: a shop at 150 points wants to get back to 200. That is 50 points. At 4 points per 200 orders, it needs 2,500 finished orders. Even at the 20 point weekly cap, that takes at least 2.5 weeks of steady, clean orders. Passing policy quizzes tied to a violation also earns points.

Before You Source Branded Stock

TikTok suggests buying directly from the brand or its authorized resellers and distributors, asking where your supplier got the stock, and comparing prices. If a supplier's price is far below other platforms, the product may be counterfeit.

Common Mistakes

  • Going live with branded stock before brand authorization is approved.
  • Sending an invoice dated after the listing went live.
  • Using a reseller LOA without proof the reseller can authorize others.
  • Opening a second shop after a deactivation.

Checklist

  • AHR above 150 with no open violations
  • Each product in the exact matching category
  • Brand authorization approved in Qualification Center
  • LOA or trademark documents valid and matching shop details
  • Invoices for branded lots, under 12 months old and dated before listing
  • No banned phrases in titles or on camera
  • Accounts kept separate
