Steps

  1. Know the cost. You lose the sale plus a refund admin fee: 20% of the referral fee, capped at $5 per SKU.
  2. Know where it comes from. Refunds are taken from your balance or your next payout.
  3. Know auction rules. Auction orders are final sale for change of mind. Buyers have 14 days from delivery to claim not received, damaged, not as described or missing items.
  4. Answer fast. After-sales handling time is part of your SPS; TikTok aims for under 12 hours.
  5. Find the cause. Sort refunds into packing errors, damage, description and delivery. Non-buyer-fault returns count in your SPS for 60 days.
  6. Fix the step that caused it. Check orders before sealing, pack fragile items better and describe items accurately.

Common Mistakes

  • Treating refunds as only a customer service problem.
  • Answering messages after more than 12 hours.
  • Promising a dispute result. TikTok decides claims under its own rules.

Checklist

  • Refunds sorted by cause
  • Top cause fixed
  • Messages answered within 12 hours

Find where your refunds begin.

Five blank sheets for a 30-day refund review: case log, cause map, suspected vs confirmed, cases and dollars counted apart, and one plan.

  • Case log for the last 30 days
  • Cause map across buying, listing, pick, check, pack, carrier and post-sale
  • Suspected vs confirmed sheet, kept deliberately separate
  • Cases, dollars, replacements, postage and rework hours in their own columns
  • A 30-day plan with one change per week
  • A short page on running the review without fooling yourself

Blank sheets only. The kit states no acceptable refund rate, no benchmark and no prediction about how a platform will decide a case.

Email required. The guide and the on-screen calculator stay open to everyone.
